Fair price and friendly people. Turnaround time is good.
Good clean meat market, well organized and friendly staffed. The guy making the sausage has been there for 14 years and likes his job. The only draw backs that I have is they are slow with drop offs and pick ups, and they do not process wild hogs, due to city regulations. If you're in a hurry to get your deer sausage, don't use them. They are always back logged during the season and it might take up to a month before you get your deer back. If you're looking to do straight processing/hamburger, the turn around is 3 - 5 days.
I took my Mule deer there last year, and wow they made that deer saugage the best I've ever had. I also had them make some jerky as well, very good stuff. We ate all of it quicker than I thought. I will be bringing my deer to them this year as well.
Really good place and price to get your hog or deer processed. However if you like your deer steaks fairly thick you have to tell them you want them thick or they will do it their way which is very thin like half and inch. But I still say use them.
great sausage at a fair price
Took a bobcat to them in November 2008. In July 2009, they decided they lost it. However the owner stated he had bobcats in the freezer he hadn't checked yet (and wasn't going to check any time soon). They did refund my money.
Good overall place. Fast turn around. 99.999999% of the time you get what you wanted. Sometimes(rarely) the ground meat might have a bit too much water or fat but nothing serious. If you want sausages or snack sticks & such, the price gets up there some but the taste is great. It can get busy during deer season but if its not sometimes hardly anyone is there, be sure to call before going during off season. Turn around time is usually couple weeks.
We have used them in the past BEFORE it has changed hands to the new owners now. Before it was great no complaints. Now its ok at best. I took a doe in to be processed for ground meat & it was extremely fat even though I didn't want any. I'm not sure if I got all the steaks back & instead of leaving the loins whole, they butterflied it, after requesting it left whole.
As for pigs, they are ok. Turn around was decent but on a couple of occasions the amount of meat back was far less then expected. We have processed many pigs & deer & generally can guess the amount back per weight of animal. Also they kept calling us to say we had a pig ready there even tho we hadn't dropped one off more months. Therefore we were NOT going to pay for something we didn't shoot or drop off.
Now we just have our own equipment & methods to do this ourselves & the results are much better.
Great place to get your kill processed. Can hang out around the fire and drink a cold one with Kenny and all his buddies. I highly recommend
